The classic car market is exhibiting sharp divergence, with buyer selectivity driving significant price disparities across different segments. According to an analysis by Classic-Analytics, which reviewed the MOTOR-KLASSIK price guide, twelve specific models recorded the highest value increases between October 2025 and October 2026.

The data, drawn from current listings of more than 3,800 vehicles, highlights a wide spectrum of appreciation that defies simple categorization by brand or era. The list spans pre-war sports cars valued in the six-figure euro range to compact cars from the 1980s priced in the low hundreds.

Leading the percentage gains is the Italian exotic De Tomaso Vallelunga, which saw a spectacular rise of 190 percent. Vehicles in condition two increased from 62,000 euros to 180,000 euros over the period.

The Bugatti Type 57 secured the second position with a 74 percent increase, rising from 390,000 euros to 680,000 euros. This substantial gain challenges narratives suggesting that pre-war automobiles are losing appeal. The absolute value increase is significant enough to theoretically finance the purchase of a small apartment in a major German city.

Appreciation was also notable in lower price brackets. The French compact Talbot Samba doubled its value, moving from 1,800 euros to 3,600 euros. Similarly, the Italian Fiat Uno rose 58 percent, climbing from 2,600 euros to 4,100 euros.

The Honda Civic also posted strong gains, increasing 51 percent from 3,500 euros to 5,300 euros. The remaining top twelve models are predominantly youngtimers from the 1990s, including the Volvo 850 T5-R wagon, Ford Escort RS 2000, and Peugeot 306 Cabriolet, which saw increases between 52 and 62 percent.

Other models identified as exotics in Germany also appreciated. The Lancia Prisma and Matra D-Jet recorded value rises, while the Wartburg 353 Tourist increased from 6,200 euros to 9,000 euros.
